parking brake cable snapped?

parking brake cable snapped?
I was asjusting the parking brake and i pressed down the parking brake pedal and ot gave way all of a sudden and no0w the parking brake doesnt work, did the cable snap somewhere? its not noticeable

I have a 1996 ram 1500 and my parking break does not work, when i press down on it there is no resistance and the cables are not moving either, its like if it wasn't connected to parking brake pedal, what could it be?
