Default frame question

Is there a difference in the 1500 and 2500 frame? are they both the same frame just with different axles?

they have different spring mounts in the rear too. 1500 are 2.5" wide were as 2500, and 3500 springs are 3" wide.

I would think or at least hope that a heavier duty truck would have a heavier frame.

pretty sure the frame itself would be the same but the heavier truck would have heavy duty suspension and axles, maybe the bigger engine and trans in the class...
