Coolant pressure buildup / coolant sprays only when pressure builds?

Timing chain cover gasket is probably blown. Or the WP is shot, or maybe the tube coming out of WP is rusted and leaking. Maybe even the heater hose connected to that tube. Or the upper radiator hose. A small leak might evaporate before you see it.

Drain valve is on the drivers side as well...... way at the bottom. Might not be closed all the way, or, the seal might just be getting old.

i'm guessing water pump. the seal around the pulley shaft is a normal kind of wear out item, and it explains the coolant loss and it slinging around.

everything else should be sealed up tight, except for the ebb/flow in/out of the overflow tank, and it should be a modest amount, and stay contained in the tank.
