should i get the quad 4x4 kit with nok seals or chicago rawhide seals? is one better than the other?

when removing the carrier mine just fell right out real loose.. is that a bad thing i have heard everyone saying it was hard to get out didnt know if that was bad that mine just fell out.. i replaced my seals about 3 months ago and they are already leaking again.. so didnt know if that was my problem

i don't think it matters that the carrier is hard to get out or not. as long as the caps are torqued properly and its not roaring or flopping or too tight.

what brand of seals did you use? i've had poor luck with crappy timkens.
did you get them seated in properly without damage?
did you lube the seals and slide the axles in GENTLY?

I'll. Take that in French too! I've had a Redhook before, definitely not a bad beer. I'll take a Shiner Bock over most anything though.

yea i used the timkins but im sure they were in straight and i did lube them up

Sorry, I should read previous posts better! What Sheriff said. I thought he was talking about the shaft itself.

I banged on that bearing with a hammer and a metal rod from the other side and couldnt get it to budge... so I ended up repacking it inside the axle housing.

Also wanted to share (to make you feel better atleast) that it took 5 seal replacements in the course of a month before we got it seated properly and not- leaking.
