Default What is this hose on rear axle?

I drove to the store the other day, truck runs normal. I get out and notice a rubber hose hanging down on the ground by the rear end. Upon closer inspection it is about 3 feet long and hooks to the top of a t-block on the driver side axle tube. the rear metal brake lines goes out the side of the t-block to each wheel. this hose goes out the top and has a plastic fitting in the end, kinda like a one way valve. Is this some kinda vent hose? I tucked it back up so it wasnt dragging. Truck still runs fine. Just curious what this is...thanks Will try to get pics if no one knows what I'm talking about, but if you look on your trucks I'm sure its there.

vent hose. tie it up high, with enough slack that the rear end can hang and bounce around.
