In the extention housing is where the case saver goes, you can just take off the four bolts that hold the extention houseing on, slide it to the back as far as it will go, snap/break the current snap ring, this will not be easy, but you can do it, always wear safty glasses, then follow the intstructions for installing your new case saver. This will take 30 to 60 min to complete.

I recommend removing the drive shaft first. This way you can also clean and properly install the tail shaft back on the TC. Not to mention you should replace the seal and can check the ujoints.

will RTV Black due as a seal? should I be draining fluid? Thanks all.

mine drained when i separeted the T-case from tranny.....not sure if you're removeing the whole t-case.....


really easy, driveshafts will take less than 5 minutes to remove, and another 5 minutes to remove extension housing....very easy

Well yea! You should drain it and replace it with new regardless.
