Exclamation need help with codes P0713,P0753, and P1763

the problem i have is that my 97 ram 1500 with the 46re transmission felt like it was going nowhere. i noticed that when i stepped on the throttle the rpm's would increase but i wasn't going any faster. it was as if i was stuck in gear or something so i did the OBD on it and found DTC's P0713, P0753, and P1763. i was not having any problems with the transmission until this point

i consulted a manual and found that P0713 dealt with the transmission fluid temperature sensor...P0753 was an electrical fault in shift solenoid A and P1763 dealt with governor pressure solenoid electrical fault.

I got a new Torque converter control solenoid and OD solenoid which is combined into one.. and replaced that thinking it would solve the problem but after clearing the codes and starting the truck the codes came back again immidiately when the CEL came on. so needless to say i still have a short somewhere. i just don't know where to look.

i should also note that if this helps i can put it into drive and it takes off like its in 3rd gear already with no power..limp in mode i guess..im wondering if the PCM is seeing an out of range reading will it shut off power feed from the Transmission relay to the transmission itself? i would really appreciate any advice or help. like i said the transmission was working fine up until this point and replaced the OD and TCC solenoid with no success. ANY SUGGESTIONS??? thanks in advance.

Default Dodge Codes

This post is old. Were you able to fix your problem? I’m also having the same issue. 2001 Dodge Ram Wagon 1500 Codes- P0753, P0713, P0711, P1763. I haven’t had the chance to get underneath the hood. I’ll be updating my progress on here. If you have additional information, I’ll gladly appreciate it.

Take a look at the 8 pin connector at the trans. Drivers side, about halfway back. Plugs straight down into the valve body. The wires will sometimes pull out of the connector, leaving exposed copper, which leads to a shot, and gives you all sorts of odd behavior.

P0753 Trans 3-4 Shift Solenoid/Trans Relay Circuits
P0713 Trans Temp Sensor Voltage Too High
P0711 Trans Temp Sensor, No Temp Rise After Start
P1763 Governor Pressure Sensor Volts Too High
Looks like you need to replace some parts if the plug pins are ok.
