Default 2000 Ram 1500 5.2L After warms up, won't idle

New to the forum so if this isn't the right place for this post, sorry and let me know where to go.

My 2000 Ram 1500 3.2L truck just started doing this. From cold start, it idles fine, revs fine but after it warms up, it will not idle. It seems like it's trying to but then it dies. If I start it up and hold throttle open, it revs smoothly. I can't detect any fuel leaks. I haven't checked for vacuum leaks or the IAC yet. Figured I would get some advise before I head off in the wrong direction. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm mechanically inclined. I don't have a lot of test equip so checking fuel pressure is out unless I go buy a tester. Thanks for you help.

Typo? It has the 5.2 318ci right? Yep wrong section for tech question...no biggie the mods will move it soon.

Start with simple stuff, and eliminate things that it could could. Make sure the air filter is not clogged. Make sure you plug wires are routed correctly. Check cap/rotor for damage. Check the PCV and see if it is clogged. Pull the IAC and TPS off the throttle body. Test the TPS by back probing, and clean the IAC valve, there should be alot of carbon build up. If it is too far gone, just replace it with a new one for $30 at auto store. Your pre-cat o2 sensor may also be a culprit. You can pull it out and then see if it runs better, if it does, replace with new O2 sensor.

Welcome to DF buddy! Others will chime in soon

First check and see if the PCM has any stored codes. And btw, Clean the port that the IAC installs into on the TB also. And when cleaning the IAC, do not push, pull, or twist it. Just spray it and gently wipe it off. Do that first and see if works. If it does not, then as suggested above, unscrew the precat o2 and see if it stays running after warmed up. If it does not, I'd say the crank sensor is bad.

Thanks, I'll try those first. BTW - Where does this post belong? I don't want to pull a noob move again.

In the regular 2nd gen section, not faq or general.
