Glad to have a fanatic of Offroad racing, well you have a 2 wheel drive truck so it would be cheaper to just leave it like that and start converting it into a Prerunner (Baja chaser) truck. 4x2 or 4x4, you can still make it into a Trophy truck look a like, but theres a reason why they call them trophy truck$$$. You would have to invest in the following:
Fiberglass fenders $600+
Suspension $1,200+
Wheels & Tires $1,300+
Front & rear end bumbers $800+

This is just for Show looks which is the minumum I can think of for a 2 wheel drive truck and fright or labor not included. Here is a pick of a 2wd and 4wd truck

Oh FYI, these are serious trucks not street or just for show trucks, the quote is the min for looks and if you or a budy built it or Fabed it...

Well here is a cheap way that will make your truck more capable and get you most places a stock 2wd wont
1) body lift 3in around $250
2) 2in or 2.5in spring spacers or springs for the front $80-150
3) add-a-leaf or blocks for rear $20-80
4) some used tires of craiglist or similar site 33-35in preferably 15in rims so when you need new tires you have better luck finding them cheap $200-800
Min total $550
Max total $1280

Yes it wont be a hardcore mudder but it will be fun to take through some holes, and no it will not look like a pre-runner but I dont think you know how costly that will be, oh yea either make a ramp to get the bike up or pratice lifting your bike to get it in the back

Thanks guys for the input. I am trying to sell it but its not going so well. I just thought instead of selling it i could just change it. You guys say its all expensive but do i necessarily need all that stuff? I dont actually need long travel suspension or anything but i would just kinda like the classic look of a trophy truck. Im just one for looks,as long as it doesnt fall apart i dont care who makes i just wanted my truck to look good.

Save your money to fix the plenum and replace the cat.Maybe get some nicer wheels/ tires and give it a good wax. Then ,Graduate High School, go to college, get a good job, then buy the truck you need/want and fix it up how you like.

There are no lt kits on the market for these trucks. I know that because I'm building one to race 1450/1500 class next year. I'm starting from scratch on the arms and spindles, running Dana 44 hubs, probably FOA's front and rear. Modified Deaver G50 pack in the rear, bed/cab/engine cage, race radio, gps, dash, the whole story.

So far my projected budget is right at $10000, and that's because I'm building it myself.

I build vehicles that race for a living. Class 7's, 9's, Trophy Trucks, weekend toys, good stuff. Prerunning isn't cheap. If you want to build a fun prerunner on the cheap, buy a Ranger, and run a bent beam kit like Autofab's. 14 inches of travel for around $1500.

Not trying to be captain killjoy, but that's reality.

edit:
prerunners don't have beds by the way. The coilovers/shocks typically come up through the bed to a bed cage. Most people just eliminate the weight of the bed and replace it with fiberglass sides. The only way that you can retain a bed is with a cantilever suspension setup. Nobody makes one, and if you wanted it, it would be mad duckets.

Leave it alone. Save the money for a new truck. If I had saved HALF of what I have put into mine in mods I would have a newer used one.

Pretty much. These trucks are terrible platforms to start a project from, because they have no aftermarket.
