A high flow cat might be nice too. And btw, most here will agree that the 14x3 is robbing you of some noticeable bottom end.

That is probably true but it seems to cruise down the highway better with it on. I have thinking about making a ram air setup like Aim did from two Dakota air hats but i havent ever gotten around to calling the only local junkyard to see if they have any yet. I guess the universal Magnflow is the CAT to use, I will scour the net looking for the best deal on one, though the direct fit would be easier to install myself.

Put the stock air box back on with a K&N filter, and try it for the hell of it. Just keep in mind, after you do a couple other things like the exhaust. You might try the stock box then too. Plus, jmho, but I hate the sucking noise! LOL

I will consider tossing it back on there. I dont notice the sucking sound, my music is too loud. Is it worth the extra cost to no have to go through the hassle of welding the cat to the odd shaped collector.

I guess that will have to wait till my welder shows up and I have a chance to practice a little. Might just do 1.7s and a tuner for now

I was thinking about doing the poor mans mod, I am pretty sure I can find someone locally to bore it out for less than 225 and I can remove the air horns. I may even be able to get a friend to bore it out. This may sound dumb but what is the stock bore on the 5.2/5.9 and will it bolt in place of the 3.9 one?

I think they do bolt on and if I'm not mistaken they are 48mm tapered.
