4.7 ????build or can it b replc'd w/360?
I have a chance to buy a 2000 Durango w/ the 4.7 pulled and gone.
Its really clean and nice.
a 4x4
will a 318 or 260 from a 99 fit in and work?
I think the 4.7 replaced the 318 in the durango.
Will a 360 bolt to the auto 4x4 tranny?
Any help out there?
I can get these thing for $700.00

No, the bell housing is different. You might be able to swap the housing, but I think the tranny is a 45re, which won't last very long with a 360 bolted to it. 360 uses a 46re which don't last long to begin with.
zman is correct in saying it won't bolt up, but you cannot swap bell housings on an automatic transmission. It's also a 45RFE which is a much better transmission than a 46RE.
There would be no easy way to put a 360 in place of a 4.7. You would need to find a 318/360 donor Durango as everything under the hood will be different. Find a 4.7, drop it in, and have fun.

used to have an 01 dak with 4.7 bellhousing is completely different if you want to swap in a 360 then go with a 46rh behind it or if you dont care for od snag a 727a you can find a good 727a for dirt cheap. that would be your best bet. I built the 4.7l in my dak and it was probably the most expensive motor I have ever seen. i spent three grand on it and i built it myself.
