98 and up can be done with tuner, 97 under you change the gear in the trans. I saved this link from the last time this was discussed.

Alright so i popped the hood and I saw 3.2 for the gear ratio. Also something about a Chrysler 9.25 rear or near that.I will be getting some all terrains since I stay in the southern part of Guam.Oh yeah Guam is an island in the pacific if you don't know.If you watched Outdoor channel's Top Truck Challenge there is a competitor from here who did good. He's in the buggy class Joe Quichocho.

I'm not sure who's getting what gears for who after 8 pages, but I thought I'd include this handy gear ratio/rpm/tire chart.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-ti...atio-chart.htm
Remember these rpms are caculated at a 65 mph, and you should subtract about 15% off the listed rpm at the given tires/gear block for overdrive...
As an example: a 33 (285/305) inch tire with 3:55 gears at 65 mph turns 2349 rpm X .85 =1996 rpm.
Another would be a 31 inch (245) tire with 3:55 gears at 65 mph turning 2501 rpm x .85 =2123 rpm
One wouldn't think that 126 rpm wouldn't make much of a difference, but given the aerodynamics of a taller truck, heavier tires..and the fact that the motor torque peaks around 2500...those that run "33" inch tires with 3:55 gears can appreciate why thier truck lacks power and constantly shifts out of OD on hilly roads.
