Default body lift tire size

I have a 1998 ram 1500 club cab 4x4 that I'm going to be doing a 3" body lift to, I'm going to be putting 17" rims on, what is the biggest tire size I can put on without rubbing?

Depends on the offset of your rims. Some can get away with 33's (285's), others can get away with 35's. (305's)

Stock size is 16X7. With 4.5 or 5 inches backspacing. (can't recall which.) If the 17's are wider, with the same backspacing, and your larger tires are also wider.... chances are you will rub at full lock, on the control arms. Larger diameter tires, with no or too little lift, will rub the inner fender well at the back (warm it with a heat gun, and reform it), or, on the bumper..... you may be able to loosen the bumper bolts, and pull it forward to gain a bit of clearance there.

Should be able to fit 35's with the rims that have 4.5bs, my friend has 35's on his 98 with a 2in spacer and only has rub at full lock on uneven ground
