lift help

Default lift help

i have a 2001 dodge 4x4 with a 2.5 body lift in the front and a 3 in the rear. im running 32 inch tires at the moment and im wanting to invest int a lift and new tires. my mechanic wants to go 9 inch with 37 but i understand theres alot to change out. so my question is should i go 6inch with 35 or 9 with 37s? also what brand lift i dont want anything thats gunna tear up fast? Im new to this whole lifting trucks thing and ive been looking through this forum for months now and have a genaral idea on everything so id appreciate a few pointers. thanks

Half-ton truck? There is some debate on the wisdom of going much larger than 35's on the Dana 44 front axle.......

my question is how and why you have a 2.5 body lift in the front and a 3in in the back

yeah lil odd having a 2.5" body lift in front and 3 back nobody even make a 2.5" body lift its either 2 or 3 no in between. as for your lift im running six inches with 37's and love it i have never hurt my front axle once and i do alot of 4 and 5 diamond trails. im running 37X12.50X16.5 military goodyear wrangler mt they are an amazingly tough tire and clear very well the only issue i have is they rub just a bit at full lock which on the road i hardly ever have to turn to lock. as for going with nine inches of lift your mechanic is an idiot, when you lift our trucks that high you run into way more problems.
