Default I'm assuming

That it is possible to put the 4 wheel shifter and boot from a 98 into a 96. Yes?

Might not be, Dodge change the pattern once or twice. Not sure what years though.

That might work of course. I was just thinking that even the shift arm itself may be bent differently.

Well not seeing a 98 up close I dont know if the hole locations on the floor board are the same or not , The one in my 96 looks like ***!!!
