Default I learned something today!

Today I learned that I am a dumb ***! No seriously, I recently made a thread about my rear brakes on my 2000 Ram locking up. I went with new Drums, new pads, wheel cylinders and a Hardware kit. It needed all 4 so this isn't one of those "money wasted" screw ups, however come to find out I put the shoes on backwards!! The Napa Pads didn't come with the studs installed for the brake adjuster, so I had to install them myself but ended up screwing up the placement. The Thinner Pads are for the front and the thicker pads are for the Rear... This makes sense since my truck stopped beautifully in reverse...

I ended up having to buy new pads since the thicker pads were worn down and I just didn't trust them. Thats ok, im just glad I solved my problem. If this never happened I wouldn't have known you could put the shoes on backwards, in school they just showed us remove and installing techniques..

Hoping someone else can use this info

Yeah and your not the first to do that or the last one, problem is nobody tells you theres a difference and some manuels will tell you that there is 2 different shoes but not tell you which is which

It happens to ALL OF USE. However, not all of us will admit it.

Had a problem with putting on my hardware correctly on one drum and it took me like 8 hrs to finish one side of my brakes!

The problem was a lack of beer.
