Default 98 Dodge Ram Maintenance Timeline?

Hello,

I just bought a 98 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 5.9L with 106,000 miles on it. It was very clean and looked like it had been kept up. In the glove box I found a maintenance slip for 2008 that had replaced the gaskets, pcv valve, replaced the starter and belt....

I know this is a nice truck in great shape, but I really want to keep it up. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind other kind of maintenance I should do to a truck this old with 106k miles on it? I want to maintain it before it breaks .

Thanks!

Inspect the intake manifold for a leaking plenum gasket.
Do a tune-up, plugs, wires, air filter...
Check your fluids, oil, and trans fluid.
Thats all I can think of right now off the top of my head.
I'm sorry I am just dog tired.
Hope someone can fill in any blanks.
I am sure i'm missing something there...

Oh, almost forgot maybe get a build sheet too. There free, just look around on the forum.
I know there is a guy on here that knows the name of the site...

But welcome to DF brother!
Hope you stick around

Got pics of your ride?

I would check and replace all the fluids, diffs and transfer case weren't mentioned previously.

Flush the cooling system.
Grease things that need greasing

Ignore any of the following that don't apply or were recently done:

Replace the oxygen sensors. Flush the engine cooling system. Replace the automatic transmission filter and fluid -- a full fluid replacement if possible, but don't let anyone run solvent through it or back-flush it. Adjust the bands while you're in there. Bleed the brakes. Replace the differential oil, and if it's a 4x4, replace the transfer case fluid. Check the radiator hoses and replace them if need be.

Speaking of which, if it's a 4x4, it's a good time to install a Transfer Case Saver.

Check all of the steering and front suspension parts, replace anything that's worn. Lube everything that's got a grease fitting.

That ought to be a pretty good start.

Clean the TB and IAC valve sensor on the backside of the TB

Make all the fluids are at correct levels and clean...power steering, coolant, oil, trans, rear diff, ect...

keep it lubed and always keep an eye for leaks...
