Default shipping axles

Has anyone ever shipped any complete axles? I am looking at a set of axles (D44/9.25) that are about 12 hours away from where I live at and was curious how much it may cost to have them shipped.

I have had a set of axles shipped to me. They strapped them down on a single pallet and shipped them via FedEx freight. It cost me $350 to have them shipped from VA to KY.

You have to figure for the pallet weight as well. The ones I had shipped to me weighted around 700# with the pallet. Also, the axles I had shipped to me were from a Jeep Wrangler, so they will weigh a little less than full size axles.

You can lose some of the weight if the axles are drained, but I doubt it will be enough to make a difference in shipping charges.

I think that is your best bet if you were only after the gears.
