Is there any way to replace the buzzer with something less annoying? I feel like I get a question wrong on a game show every time I open my door. I've been living with it since I got my truck a long time ago, but it'd be nice to change out.

I took that black box thing out and the radio stopped working so I plugged it back in and now the radio still does not work. Any ideas?

Check all the fuses. Including the special looking ones.

I am kind of wondering why you did that?

Pull the buzzer, pry the case apart and remove the thin steel disc... put it back together and reinstall.

This way it all thinks it is working, but without the diaphragm there is no noise.

a much easier solution than all the BS above is to remove the clamshell covers around the column/ignition switch, and unplug the 2 wire connector from the switch.

i've learned that the hard way.
