i didnt....did you get a hughes kit? ir you are only replacing the gasket, be prepared to do it again in the future....only replacing the gasket wont fix the problem.

but i didnt use any rtv on my hughes kit, had it on about 9K now, and not one spec of leaks.

Cool Gasket

i didnt get the hughs kit... i wanted to but..... lol eh. i figured if it fixes the problem then ill get the kit next time i do it. at least it'll be easier the 2nd time around. lol i just got the cheap felpro gasket. there is a thin line of rubberish content around the gasket except where the holes are, thats why i was wondering about puttin the sealant on. it wont leak around the holes?... if not i clean wont use the sealant. easier to clean next time around. lol my truck has 200,000 miles on it so who knows it may go bad before the gasket does again..... HOPE NOT!!!

Clean the thread holes out real good, and cut the bolts or buy some new shorter ones, if you are just replacing the gasket. And torque them a few times, not just once. Use Loctite on the threads also.
