new to us ram newbie
I have been reading the treads and faq for Issue with truck. But have a Question that may have been answered.
So here goes. the Q is what is the best way to get the most fuel Eco ?
It a 1500 slt laramie
I am thinking of tuning with aftermarket programmer but will that give me{ actual it for my wife I bought it for her} better Eco. right now we get 13.4 in the city of daytona beach.
I have already had it in the maintenance bay for a complete tune up using E3 Spark Plugs and bosch wires. We got it for 3K tax tag etc include with them doing change to all the fluids and new battery.with 187K on the clock
We are ready order the spec sheet "thanks you this forum" so will know all the options: like is it a 5.2 or 5.9 Yes I know how in world did you buy with out know that forgot to ask lol

theres a tag right under the hood that will let you know what engine size it is....and to tell you the truth 13.4 mpgs is VERY good for our trucks.....best thing would be re-gear, and a tuner, then you should be golden
Learn to drive like a grandpa. Even if you do modifications to increase fuel economy, learn to drive like a grandpa.
I can say that it's easy because I am a grandpa.

if you are going to run anything bigger than a 32" tire then no, the 3.55's wont be to bad...andno they arent really heavy duty.....Ive heard and seen of many people with a LSD 3.55, have them exploding....
Personally if you really want best fuel eco. and being a 4x2, id say upgrade to the 3.92 gears....
i run 4.10 gears with 265/75/16 10 ply tires, and i get about 13-14 city, 17-19 highway....mines also a 4x4 (heavier) and a 5.9 (more of a guzzler) so you should see some good results with a gear change.
