What bulb did you use for the dome. All the 921 are forward firing. I was looking into a 360 degree 194 that is extended, but couldn't find one that would center the bulbs over the reflector.

On a side note, I did your dash led conversion last year (thanks for the info). Only thing was the other day I had my running lights because I was unloading my truck in the unloading zone. Forgot about the truck for 2.5 hrs lol.... came out and the starter slow cranked and killed a led in the process. Also think I have another on its way out . The one advance led in the climate control started strobing. And now I have an non-consistant flicker on one of the 5 led bulbs (the one in the center of the cluster). It's so wierd because it will work fine for hours and then all of a sudden start flickering and then start working again no problem. Oh well lol

Edit, one more thing.

What did you do about the cup holder and ash try. I bought blue 194's from advance (non led) and put them in, but they glowed green so I pulled both of those bulbs out all together. I couldn't find a bulb that would fire sideways through the metal cutaway for either of those bulbs. I'm fine with running no bulbs, but was just curious if you had found anything.

Alright, well with the dome lights I didn't use bulbs. I went to AutoZone and got those LED squares. They have two sizes, and they both fit good in the center light and the map lights. I cut my wiring and spliced them in. Not sure if anybody here is going to wanna cut their existing wiring but I did ... But the one LED going out because of a bad startup, that's just something that happens. It could have and probably would have done the same to your stock bulb. I am also having two problems with mine. I have a pulsating LED in my cluster, and my headlight switch bulb went out. If you remember I lost a small metal retainer during the making of the DIY. It just so happens to be the LED that is pulsating. So it is just a bad connection. And I'm sure yours is too. But the headlight switch, I'm not too sure. My stock bulb went out, then my LED went out. Maybe if somebody wired it without the resistor they might have better luck. Just so everybody knows, I'm no expert at LED's. I learn as I go. I made the DIY as guidelines because my learning experience just so happened to work. This kind of mod is going to need some work I'm sure. There is probably a better way. I don't know. All I know is my dash is kickin' and I'm having fun doing it . Let me know if you fix anything or make any changes. Might consider doing the same to mine.

Edit: Also on the cup holder lights, I dont have mine anymore. I built that center console (Which still needs a lot of work), so I just have the wire harness hanging behind it for later. The ashtray though? I never thought of changing the bulb to that. I never open mine. Good idea. You might try drilling a hole somewhere and mounting one of those advance single LED's... Just a thought

i used LED's in my 81 d150. i ended up not ordering enough to replace all the bulbs in my truck. i also replaced the dome light with an led. it is brighter but it seems sort of creepy. reminds me of the movie Christine.
here is the LED's i used for my gauges. i bought them on e-bay for cheaper than i could buy stock replacements.

Looks good, I think you did a hell of a job with the first DIY. What type of bulbs did you use for the switches?

Just the LED's from Advance Auto. Any kind of LED that you can clearly access the positive and negative wires and fit them into the holes the old LED's came out of can be used. Just solder them on.
