Put new tires on
I was starting to get some serious cracking at the top of the sidewall on my Michelin's, so I decided to take the pickup over to the tire place and have them look at them, and if they were bad, have them test fit my 285/70/17's that have been in my garage for a few days. I currently run a 265/75/16. I thought I would need to put my 2" lift on before they would fit, but it turns out they fit with no rubbing. There is about 1/4 space between the tire and lower control arm on full turn. I'm still going to put the lift on, but after the adjuster looks over my hail damage.
The tires are BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO RWL - 285/70/17
The wheels are 17" aluminum wheels off a 2001 Off-Road Ram

i have 285/75/16's on mine and they rub on the control arms............i almost got a set of the 17's off of an offroad ram........but didnt want to spend the extra money for the 17 inch tires.......now i have to either get new rims with different backspacing or get wheel spacers....your wheels and tires look pretty good though............i wish oi would have went withe the 17's
i have no idea on what size backspacing to get.......but i need to know my self if i plan on getting different rims because if i get different rims i dont want my tires rubbing after dropping at least $500
i would try to get the offset close to stock. i'm running 35 on stock rims and doesn't rub on the outside or the inside, plus it keeps the tires under the truck so i don't throw anything up the sides as bad.

I can measure the offset on both my old 16" and these new 17" if your interested.
