Indeed it is. I've still got more CB radios than I need, but I do like the idea of the DX98 a lot. It'd save me finding spaces to hang an amp and a frequency counter. IF I ever get around to hanging the CB itself, that is.

I have a pocket-sized weather radio that's in storage just now but is going to end up in the glove box of the truck as soon as I see it again. At those times when a weather forecast is needed now in some out of the way place, nothing beats NOAA radio. That little radio has saved me some grief quite a few times and I figure it will again. It's a lot easier to turn on the radio than to hunt around for a wi-fi hotspot in some unknown dinky town out in the middle of nowhere while listening to some random music station hoping for a weather forecast.

Until relatively recently I lived in a place where NOAA radio didn't reach, but that had cell signal in some parts of town. Go figure.

i have tons of cbs dont get addicted LOL........ look on kijiji or craigslist you might find a good used one. ask your friends or family they might have a good used one in there shed collecting dust and give it too you.... if not get a cobra 25 or 29 and get it tuned..... dont run a fibreglass and dont run duals u wont get out, buy a mag mount wilson or 102" ss and stiff spring make sure too set your SWR its a the biggest thing ...... if thats not good enough buy a linear and 10k antenna and start talking with the big boys haha most of all have fun pissing people off! jk
