Default Still The Same Problem.

I replaced my plenum gasket with the Hughes Kit. My transmission is still having shifting problems. It keeps dropping from 4th to 3rd then back to 4th and 3rd back and fourth. After 60 mph it doesn't do this. It drives great. I did replace the TPS, but still have the same problem. I'm at a loss!

Plenum shouldn't have anything to do with trans performance.....

Have you tried adjusting the TV cable? There was link somewhere around here for the 'correct' procedure for doing so.

Might also be a failing sensor/solenoid in the trans, or even as simply as a questionable ground.....

Does it do it with while holding the gas pedal in a constant position??

Yes it seems to do it on a constant gas pedal position. It even does it on cruse control. I did do the TSB for the spark plug wire fix.

Is it actually shifting gears? Or, is it just the Torque converter clutch dropping in/out? How large of an RPM change are you seeing?

Man I messed with that TV cable and now I can't get it back to the way the factory had it. Any ideas to get it close to the orginal setting dodge set it with before it left the factory? It seems to jump up and down 500 rpms.

Here's the factory TV cable adjustment https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-in-trans.html and here's the other issue with rpm jump if it's not the TPS https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ise-speed.html You should also go to a tranny shop or some one who has a scanner capable of reading tranny codes.

zman makes a good point as well... are you sure its not a faulty TPS sensor? That has been known to cause erratic shifting sometimes.

I clearly stated in my first post that I have already replaced the TPS.
