that red tape is actually felt. my truck has it too. i think its so it doesnt rattle.

They put the red felt on the 98+. I don't remember my '94 having the felt.

Thats nice...I do all my dashes and kick panels with mounting tape (the thick stuff) to eliminate rattles, but now that I remember I never opened the 05....There was none in my 93-94's....
