Has any troubleshooting at all been done? Have any other modifications been performed?

One possibility is a hung relay in the PDC. The easy way to isolate one of those is to measure the current from the battery with the key off, all loads switched off, and door closed. Just pull one relay at a time while watching the current -- if the current falls to very near zero with one of them, that's the hung relay.

If that turns up nothing, try pulling fuses one at a time in the same fashion. That should isolate the circuit so you don't have to hunt throughout the vehicle.

i have a 1999 ram 1500 and it has the same problem [ no aftermarket add-ons ] and the drain registers .42 ma. when i unplug the seatbelt control connector [ located under the driver seat ] the drain drops to .21 ma. i can not leave the connector unpluged because the belts lock in retracted position.

I guess i will have to have the dealer run a scan and see what part of the seatbelt control system is malfunctioning.
The acceptable constant drail level is .20-.22 milli-amps.

thanks:
TP
