Default No Start on really cold days

Ok before we get cold here I wanted to see if I can help my Ram start on those cold days when I need to get out and plow. Last year on several occasions I went out to start my ram and it would not start. It would turn over a bit slower but good enough to start. If I cranked it for awhile it would kick a little but still not start.
If I went back inside and then came out a couple hours later it would start like a summer day.
It has 200k on it is a 1996 with the 5.9 gas. I have done plugs etc, filters and all that. Any other things folks have done that made it easier to start?
I know I can get a block heater, but if is something else wearing out I would rather fix it then go to the trouble of installing a block heater.
Wondering about Coil issues, fuel pressure sensors, wires, any other sensors?
I have replaced the fuel pump as well.

Thanks for any ideas.

try a new battery. if the battery is old it will not start in cold weather no matter how good of a charge you think it may have.

check all connections, have the starter checked, could be a bad starter, or a bad ground.get some dieletric grease and put some in all the boots for the plug wires, including the coil wire.

How do the wires that connect to the battery look, if they look worn or corroded they can be the cause of the problem with the cold it will make the weak parts in the electrical system show up
