Default New to DF. Question also if anyone can help.

New to DF and excited to be here.

My ride: 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport V8
Miles: over 122K
Repairs: New Radiator, New Waterpump, Rebuilt Transmission, Newer Serpentine Belt

Question: Sometimes while I am driving the truck will die on me completely while in motion. The power goes off and the engine stops all together. I have to wait for the truck to stop to put it into park, then turn the truck off, turn it back on and then its fine. It also sometimes wants to die if I dont put on the gas quick enough. If I barely push down it feels like there may be some type of pressure problem because it will feel sluggish. I am not sure if it is a sensor going out or what is wrong with it. Another thing it does is when I first turn the truck on and put it into drive the entire truck jerks forward as if the gas is already being pushed slightly. Can anyone help??????

I've not heard of many intermittent Crank sensors but it's possible if it's an intermittent short to ground in the plug/cable. The crank sensor itself is merely a magnetic pickup that reads the notches in the flexplates.

Could be a fuel pump motor going out. Do you have a test port on the driver's side fuel rail? If you can test it when the problem happens you might find your answer.
