id say sell the ranger to the scrap yard. a tranny for that thing will cost about $300. but if you get on craigslist you can find a whole new truck for like $500.

thats exactly what we're getting the new one for. he doesnt want to get a new truck. plus i already looked on my local craigslist and the closest one that is being parted out is over 2 hours away.

Check the clutch you just replaced. Replacements fail from time to time.

wouldnt be a clutch issue, because he still has 4th gear. if the clutch were to fail it wouldnt move at all.

Not of the clutch is sliding back and forth. Improperly seated clutches do the craziest things.

i just got done swapping the tranny in my dodge. this f*cked over rebuilt dodge will be a breeze

well considering he was driving it at 60mph when it happened, i doubt it was the clutch. like i also said in a previous post the tranny had a leak, therefore was probly bone dry and like mjonesjr said the gears probly ground themselves off.once again. he only has 4th gear. no clutch problem there. if it was he wouldnt have any gears. if it was a clutch problem he would have either got 4th to stop working, or got other gears to start working after a little while playing with the pedal.
