Missing during acceleration off idle
Hello all.
After I Interupted someone elses post last with the same symptoms as mine I got it fixed. at least my unable to idle issue.
Problem is now that on acceleration after warm up Im getting a miss or stumble until it gets to about 25-30 mph. After that it takes off and I think runs like it should. I still dont know what the actual performance is supposed to feel like having bought the truck used. Oh sorry, It's a 1999 2500 4x4 V-10 auto. Fuel economy like a honda, hehe. Ok back to my issue. It was brought to my attention last night as well that I probably have a vacuum leak somewhere or many places. I guess what im asking is, could this be my missing /stumbling problem, one or many vacuum leaks or, should I be looking at multiple things. I know im probably leaving out valuable info but I just dont know what that might be. I am a carpenter and generally just throw parts at it till it stops being a bad truck. Currently my money situation doesnt permit that so any help would be awesome.
Thanks everyone

vacuum leaks will cause a terrible stumble when coming off idle. to prove it is, or isn't the problem - label, disconnect, and plug off all the vacuum ports on the manifold. then take a short test drive. caution you may not have power brakes or transmission shift, etc. if this eliminates the problem, then add them back one at a time until you find the culprit.
if that's not it, remove and clean spark plugs, look for fouling, etc. also check distributor cap and rotor. these can cause a skip, as well as wires. to check wires, look for blue spark at night, or a snapping sound if its shorting to ground.
