I was going to put them on tonight but a cold front is moving in and I dont deal with cool weather very good but in the morning Ill began the install. not very smart with a computer but ill try my best to figure out how to post pics and get some of info up to benefit yall.
Alright got them put on!! Turns out the 4.5 OD pipe is a little too big for the rubber boot that rides on top the coil. I had to slip the boot over the the pipe on the bottom of the leveling kit and then bolt the spacer to the coil bucket then i used coil spring compressors to get the spring back in. once they was in i jacked up the axle to set the coil back into the boot properly. but other than that they tuurned out great. On the bad note I was in a rush to get finished because i had to help my parents move out of thier house but i did manage to take a few pictures in the process.
and just to add to yours a little bit (and its what i plan on doing. i would have thrown a couple welds on the bolts. Just a bit easier to install. looks like itd be a little difficult to get a wrench or ratchet in there.
Yea if i wouldnt of been in such a rush i would have welded the bolts in but luckly i have some long fingers to reach in and get that back bolt on the coil bucket. I come from the 80s model chevy scene and before that was a YJ and then a Duramax and Tacoma. So Dodge is new to me. but on the good note i went to the Woods today and got about 100 miles on then and im glad i did it myself almost got stuck but thats just part of the fun. I should have measured to see how much lift it gave me but i forgot also... Ive got like 10 inches between tire and fender on top. Tires are BFG AT 33x12.50x15 on 10 wides. but i do think turning them down to 4.25 would be better! As long as it aint too much work to turn them down!! O yea both top and bottom was 7 inches on the rings and they worked fine.
You should measure how much lift you got. I was thinking about doing spacers to lift my truck, but the coils are so saggy that I'm already probably an inch lower than stock. I wanna know if 2 5/8 gave 2 5/8 of lift, so I can compensate for the old springs.
Ha thats kind of where i lacked measurements at I didnt measure it before i lifted it but to me it seems like 2 and 5/8s gave me 2 and 5/8s so im almost plositive what you put between the coil and the bucket is what youll gain whenever your finished.
