From what I know, yeah, it should fit...as long as the '98 isn't a diesel.

Better make it more clear, the Truck is a 1999 1500 4x4. with a 2002 360 motor, Not sure what year the trans is, THe one Im looking at came out of a 1998 3500 4x4 46Re Trans. Will this fit. The guy selling the trans said It does not come with the convertor, Can any one point me to that part.

My baby is just sitting there.. And winter is on the way. I need my 4x4

Yes, the transmission will fit. Reuse your old transfer case. As long as you've got the transfer case out, you'd do well to install a Transfer Case Saver if you've got the four bolt tailshaft housing.

You can get a torque converter pretty much anywhere, but I recommend going with an upgraded unit from PATC. Then when the used transmission pukes, go back to PATC for a much stouter unit.

The 3500 has a 360 gas also? I can't believe 2500's use the 46re, let alone a 3500.

Me, too. I had to look. I guess the 47RE was only behind the 8.0s and 5.9 diesels.

I know, It's crazy. That's why I was questioning the OP if the 3500 has a 360 gasser in it.

the 98 trans will work, but you may not have overdrive due to the solenoids in the tranny being different between 97-99 and 00-02. i have an 01 truck, 98 trans and i currently do not have overdrive due to that very reason. you can get the correct parts to fix that problem from www.wittrans.com i believe they are about 140 or so total. other than that you should be fine.
