Default Lift spring idea

I want to lift the front of my diesel up 3". My springs are pretty saggy, though, so I want to replace the springs, not just use spacers. I can't find 3" lift springs for a diesel, though. Top Gunz has 3.5", which might work, but I don't want to have to replace the control arms or other stuff at this point. I was thinking, though, what about using 5" lift coils for a gas truck? Wouldn't it work out to 3" of lift, plus a nicer ride since the spring rate isn't as stiff?

Also, has anyone built leaf packs for these trucks? I want to lift the rear about 2", and wouldn't mind doing it with a new pack rather than AALs, but I need to know what pack to modify, and what leafs to add into it to get the lift and spring rate needed for these trucks.

You think your springs sag now? Throw the gas ones under the weight of That cummins and see what happens. On top of the fact it'll ride like garbage. Keep searching for springs or just put in a two inch leveling kit. Don't use gas springs on that diesel

+1... Replace the front springs with new and get some 2 1/2 or 3 " spacers. Anything over 3" and you need a whole lot of other mods to the suspension components.

Alright, thanks. It was an idea, but I figured not a good one. Anyone know how much replacement stock springs run?

Hmm. I bet on those 3.5" lift coils, there is a dead coil when the truck sits. It would be safe to trim it, and easily lower the truck that half inch...
