a few upgrades for the ram
Wow that looks awesome! I'm gonna look into this a little harder now, never thought it'd turn out that nice! I need a new grill anyways, maybe I'll try it out on my current one first before I replace it
The problem is my custom Indy mix of powders isnt nuts on to the oem PCH paint code.
The powdercoat & oem paint side by side may look odd.
Thats why I was thinking chrome with white stripes extended.
Have chrome one piece lights/signals & my 22s are chrome as well.
Have to think about it more & maybe do a test run with some of the left over material after I cut all 6 pieces.
Either way I have to chrome all the pieces regardless as a base coating or polish them.(Indy mix 75%opaque/25% transluscent)
Then Ill either have to spray wet automotive white paint ontop or try a 3rd coat of white powder which maybe tricky (never done 3stage)
i know its been awhile but this thread somehow got revived.
heres the finished pic, i also installed the mesh in the bumper openings. my next project is to install the fog lights behind the bumper, remove the grille and inserts and paint the grille white and inserts flat black, to go along with my custom two-tone!

as for a step by step, here it is with a buch of crappy pics. they were taken inside a dimly lit room with a cell phone so bare with me.
*i bought a couple pieces of mesh gutter guards, and then cut them about 1'' bigger all the way around than the grille openings

you actually have two options,1 you can cut out and lay the mesh over the existing grill, or 2 you can cut out the factory grille and hand form the mesh to fill the void.
*i took my grille off the truck and cut out the factory honey comb inserts, but i left the outside ring of plastic and drilled some holes to zip tie and secure the mesh.

*i then used a pair of lineman pliers and slowly formed the mesh to fit into each hole in the grille. make sure the mesh pieces are all line up the same way(they have a directional pattern)

*used about 8 zip ties on each piece all the way around untill i felt it was secure enough, then clip the remaining bit to clean it all up.

*i then reattached the grille to the truck

*and because my truck for some reason did not come with the plastic bumper inserts, i created some and installed them the same way. here a pic under the truck

and thats pretty much it, and to the site mods, you can move this to the diy section now that i actuall posted pics and listed the instructions. lol
