Default Hesitation in drive, reverse fine

My truck parks on a slight uphill and when I first take off there is a noticable hesitation when I put the truck in drive. If I put it in reverse and backup like 5 feet then put in drive it seems fine.
This only does it if the truck hasn't been driven for several hours. After it has been driven and warmed up it doesn't hesitate at all. Does anyone know what may cause this. I thought about having my transmission flushed, but I heard that flushing a transmission may cause more problems then the benifits.
The truck has 195,000 miles on it and I don't know the history. Any advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks
