transmission valve body relpacement?
I had the trans on a 2WD auto rebuilt 5 months ago, 3 months later the repair guy had to replace the valve body, yesterday the sensor by the linkage was leaking so he repaired it under warranty. Picked it up and the fluid was overfull by minimum 1/2 quart. Should I let this guy touch it again? Do brand new valve body's go bad in 3 months?

Check fluid level in neutral. Checking in park will give you a false reading.
How does the trans feel? Shift nice? Downshift when you think it should? Nice, crisp, firm shifts? Did you have him do a shift kit? Sonnax Sure cure? Anything at all to the valve body??
Generally, on rebuilds, the valve body does NOT get replaced. Some seals and such do, and things get the crap cleaned out of them, but, that's about it. (unless you got one of the two options above, in which case, some of the valves and such DO get replaced....)
If he takes care of problems, and is reasonable about it, stick with him.

I'm gonna play devils advocate here and say be leary.
The primary reason a VB "goes bad" is debris from a trans failure circulates and clogs the passages. If it was a rebuild that fouled the VB, it likely means the lines were not flushed or the vb wasn't properly serviced during the rebuild (or worse, you got a used torque converter.) further, a sensor shouldn't leak 3 months into a rebuild unless its a crappy install or gummed up with more crap from a meltdown.
