You better look again at that truck.
I have a 96 2wd 1500 and i have coil spring up front,
I know i replaced everything there last year.
The coil spring are what support the weight of the vehicle.
The shocks are there to help control the bounce of the vehicle when you hit a bump.

My 96 1500 has coils too. So does my 87 D100 and 5th. ave.
Shocks don't support anything. They just dampen the action of the springs or torsion bars.

You are wrong bud! They ALL have coils. And just because you did the shocks means nothing. They are not inside the spring like on a 4X4.

Have a look at these pics https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...placement.html

and like i said Heyyou, thats why they have independent front suspension, the control arms hold it with a shock absorber.
Really? I am real curious what happened to them then. Considering it came from the factory with them in there.....

with no springs it would rub tires like crazy becuase it would be bottomed out 24/7, I drive a 96 2wd I would know and if you dont believe us look on ebay at the lift coils and lowering coils.

heres a video if you notice there a red colored thingy between the upper and lower control arms, that is the infamous coil spring, and guess what I may have put that one in but there was one in there from stock and every 2wd dodge ram 1500 94-01 comes with two of them thingy's from the factory.....sounds like someone needs some blinker fluid
