What HeyYou said, but make sure you're on level ground in NEUTRAL, with parking brake applied. Not PARK.

Can we have a more detailed description of what's going on? And put ALL the info about your truck in your sig or profile.

Its been said "check fluid level".

Drive it a few miles, cycle gears, drop in neutral, and check fluid level. If its above "full", siphon enough out to bring it down to half way between the "Fill" and "full" mark.

It could be too high, which causes aeration, either from the transfer case or radiator is your truck has a tranny cooler in the radiator.

Or it could be too low from a slight leak over time.

Go ahead and give it a smell too- if it smells like burnt toast, your trannys good as gone. If it smells OK but the level is too high or too low, adjust the level and see if that solves it. (then if it does, rectify the fluid level problem), and if the levels fine, and it smells fine, give us more info including the color of the tranny fluid and mileage and the such and hopefully we can continue to help out.

Now that we have the info about the truck, I for one, would still like a more accurate description of whats going on.
