Default Lemme hear the input

so i finally got done with my little overhaul over the weekend, i did the plenum fix, cap and rotor, wires and plugs, oil and filter, o2 sensor, and some cleaning, but then decided earlier to try and tackle the 4x4 problem. so i started lookin and this is what i found...

I pulled the vac lines at the CAD and no vacuum on the 2wd side, and i have vacuum on the 4wd side, so i traced the lines and ended up at the vacuum switch on the t-case. i pulled the lines off and look in them and sure enough the 2wd line was clogged with dirt, so i unclogged it, then i found the switch had dirt in the same 2wd connector so i tried the best i could at gettin the dirt out till it looked like the other 3. put the switch back in and tried it and still nothin, no dash light, and no vac on the one line at the cad, well maybe just a hair, but not even close to enough. so i tried turnin the front driveshaft and it locks in, so the t-case is workin. i dont have a jack tall enough to get the right front wheel off the ground so i cant check that to see if its engaged or not. im sure its not though since i dont have vacuum so the motor cant shift over.

So anyways, i bought a new vacuum switch to try whenever it gets here, was only 25 bucks. But let me know what you guys think. If this switch dont work then maybe the line is clogged somewhere in between the t-case and cad, Let me know. Thanks guys.

the T-case switch is what you got right? (the four prong connector...i just know it by t-case switch making sure we are on same page.)

could work...if not, unplug the vacuum lines in front of tranny mount...where they become steel...and replace from the steel back....not to complicated,.

Also check and make sure you have good source vacuum TO the switch. With the switch in your hand, if you have a source of compressed air, blow thru the vent line on the switch, and see if it doesn't clear anything out of there.

I am REAL curious how someone manage to get dirt there in the first place....... that took some real talent.

I suspect that at one point the lines came off the CAD and the 2wd line sucked dirt in. I'd replace the TC switch and blow out the line with compressed air as suggested or replace the entire line. There is most likely more dirt in it and it could get sucked into the new switch.
