Default ordered cam what do i need

ok i was ordering my hughes plenum fix and while on the phone i asked about cams for a truck mainly used for towing after telling him my mods he recommend this cam

http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...2&partid=11442

so i ordered it...i just did a search and i came up with a few thing but no actual right up on it.I read about the bearing you dont want the back bearing to be stuck or the motor will need to be pulled. So my question is should i go ahead and get a new timing chain set, what is all needed gasket wise and how difficult is this going to be.

By all means get a double roller timing set. Gaskets for timing cover and water pump. While it's easy to get to a bypass hose on the water pump too.

How old is your water pump? Gonna have to take it off anyway, might just as well replace it.

Definitely replace timing set.

Did you happen to notice that they also want you to replace valve springs/locks/retainers with that cam?

Also.... that is a reground cam.... is it going to need longer pushrods? Adjustable rockers??

says sweet spot rpm is 4500, you going to see your truck at 4500 all the time ? you may just want to do the 210 krc cam or 1.7 HS , a cam is alot of work

If you are really looking to gain hp and a diff sound get a cam. It's not that much work to do a cam, I would add about an 1 hr to your work to install a cam, But it may have to be taken to a dealer to have the final setup done.

This is the cam I am using with adj 1.7 r/r and I can say it's a great combo #p5007551

http://www.monicattichrysler.com/com...dProduct=1245#

Part list and numbers for mopar performance parts

1 P5007551 Cam kit $500.00 (R/T cam, includes lifters)
1 P5249267 Chain kit $61.24 (chain tension er)
1 P5007709 Chain $31.28 (true double roller)
1 P4876049 gskt kit $32.60 (way better than fel-pro)
1 P4876280 seal pac $13.05 (crank seal)
1 P53021057AB gsk $22.70 (water pump I think)

These are my costs in CDN $

If you can afford these P5007404 adj 1.7 roller rockers $554.40 (will need new valve covers or mod stock ones)

Just remember one mod leads to another mod leads to another...............
