1/2 ton running gear swap to 3/4 ton
Yes it would but I thought he was saying that the LD2500 axles would be fine since all he wanted was 8-lugs.
That, i would agree, would be a waste of time and money.
The whtie Dodge in my garage has a D60/70 swap. you will probably run into some steering compenent differences as well.
Why would you want the 8 lug? i have a set of 8 lug 44/60 I will sell if you'd like. That way you could keep your stock suspension, just bolt'em up. (some mods may be required of course)

Well, you might have to also get the LD knuckles, if the brakes are larger diameter....... front hub/bearing assemblies would be required.... and god only knows what else. The rears would need drums, backing plates, shoes, hardware kits, wheel cylinders....... assuming that the parts were the same size as the 8800gvw versions...... no info there either. Although, my 96 8800gvw uses the same calipers as the LD 2500's from later years...... but, they are still larger than the half ton units......
Finding the parts used is probably going to be difficult, at best... and if you could find a truck that had them, taking the entire axle would be FAR easier, and probably cheaper.... Buying it all new??? Hideously expensive.

it just seems like doing an axle swap just to gain an 8 lug pattern is a ton to much work, id much rather swap the brakes over and the steering knuckles then rip out both axles and stuff. if you can find one out of a junkyard its up to you either way. do some research to findout all the info on the two axles and see what youd need
