Default Brake lights not working!

Need some help. Went to get inspected and found out my brake lights aren't working. They have been and apparently just stopped.

The 3rd brake light works but the two others do not. We have checked fuses and replaced the brake light switch, bulbs and took the trailer plug off to see if that was making it mess up. There is no power getting to the back lights for the brakes. The tail lights, turn and hazards all work as well.

We have to get this thing inspected asap. Any help?

Front control module powers the brake lamps on the sides VIA a signal from the brake switch. The center light is on a different circuit. It's hardwired from brake switch. What year is this? I am assuming you set the new brake switch the correct way. Did you lock it down with the little lever?

OOPS!, 97 doesn't have one. I was answering based on 3rd GEN. I believe the side brake lights on a 97 are run VIA the multifunction switch (turn signal switch internal) I'll get back with you this evening. Have to go to work now.

The multifunction switch makes me think of something too. The headlights if you don't keep the steering wheel tilted all the way up will go out. Do you think they are related?
