Default heating issues

hey dudes...just wondering if anybody can give me an idea of what to look for...got a 99 Ram 5.2 engine...engine comes up to temp no problem, heat issue is inside cab. When driving, heat blows really hot, no problem there but when I come to a stop and idle, the air coming out of the vents is warm, at best. Any ideas? Hoping it's not the heater core...could need a flush, blockage somewhere? Maybe air in system? Any help would be cool, Thanx

Sounds like the radiator is low on coolant. Check the level and top it off as needed.

sounds like your pump may not be circulating as good as it should. When is the last time your coolant was flushed? I would give the system a good descale and flush, and burp it to make sure all the air is out. Give that a try and post back to see if it worked.

Thx guys...will check the level/ burp system...also might be time for a new rad...noticed a drop or two of coolant under bumper, could be why there might be air in system...might do that and flush at same time...will post back when I get it figured out...thanx again

Are you certain it was under the bumper, because drops of coolant could also be coming from the water pump, meaning it's a short time before it goes.

The drain valve is up in that area too... Might just be a bad o-ring.
