hey i just replaced my 46RE trans ,

now i can feel it shifting into 2 gear , also while in D it seems like it revs a little too much sometimes to get going , but it will not go into third or higer .
my transfer case is from a 99 durango , it says 242 on it , and the sensor on the TC is not connected, it has a different plug than the wiring in the car ,

my speedo does not work either at any speed.

are these symptoms related?

also when i shift into reverse i hear a slight whine coming from the trans , normal?

The tranny might have issues, but I'm not touching this with a ten foot pole. Your Ram should have a 231 TC in it, simple as that.

 

update , i swapped the governor sensor and it does everything normally now...
i know the truck should have a 231 TC but parts for these cars are extremely rare here in Iceland so we use whatever we get our hands on to keep'em running...
now i need to figure out if a stock 95 VSS will work with my 242 TC
