Unhappy Trouble with OEM fog lights on with H/Beam mod

This is the pic from the DIY for modding/jumping the relay so the road lamps stay on when the hi-beams are on...

Pretty simple eh? NOT FOR ME!! See where the yellow jumper goes from left to right, I only have a female receiver on the right side terminal, the left side terminal is empty!? WTF? My fuse box is IDENTICAL to the pic (near as I can figure out, I DO NOT have the dual relay setup as shown in the other pic in the DIY), so I'm assuming I have the single relay setup. I'm kind of electrically "retarded" (lol) and maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I can't figure it out! ANY help would sure be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Here's a wiring diagram:

You want to jump pin 30, to pin 87. Check the bottom of the relay, pins should be labeled.

Ok, as mentioned, I'm kinda electrically "retarded". I don't have any numbers that make sense to me.
Looking at the bottom of the relay holding it so that the 2 large terminals are horizontal and the 3 smaller terminals are vertical:
Top large horizontal terminal is marked #3
Bottom large horizontal terminal is marked #5
LH smaller vertical terminal is marked #2
Center smaller vertical terminal is marked #4
RH smaller vertical terminal is marked #1
There is a small diagram on the side of the relay that seems to offer a "conversion" of your numbers to the the numbers above, but if I'm right it tells me to jump #3 (=#30) and #5 (=#87), which is identical to the pic in the DIY, which I did, but I have no female terminal in spot #5 (#87) ???
So this conversion diagram is :
#3 = #30
#5 = 87
#2 = #86
#4 = #87A
#1 = #85
If I (we !) get this figured out, do I need to fuse my jumper and if so, what guage wire and what size fuse?
Thanks for your help and patience here....

Try hooking pin 30 (3) to pin 85 (1) then. They both end up at the same place.

Considering this wiring diagram is taken directly from the 2001 service manual...... I am really curious why it doesn't match up to what you have in your 01 truck.

Shouldn't need to fuse this, just use a fairly fat wire.

Nope, The fog lamps don't work at all there either!
The manufacturing date on my truck is 07/00 if that might matter ??
I was gonna try pluggin in it on some the other terminals (#30 to #87A or #30 to #86) , but I'm afraid I'll F somethin up! LOL

Pin 30 should be hot at all times. Pin 87 and 85 should be grounded when the foglamps are switched on via the headlamp switch. Do your foglights work as advertised with the relay in place?

Yes, with the relay in place fog lamps are on when switched on with/at the headlight switch and go off when the hi-beams are put on.
Ohm meter confirms that terminal #30 is hot all the time.
This is weird eh? LOL

LOL !! Actually I tested it with the OHM meter already and then just to be sure it was connecting well, I plugged it into terminal #30 and checked the other end for voltage, also checked good !

Oh well. that woulda been just too easy.....

Alright, will pin 30 is doing what it is supposed to.... one of the above listed pins should be grounded when the fog lamp switch is turned on. Everything else works the way it is supposed to...... Use your VOM, and check both 85, and 87 for continuity to ground when the switch is turned on. Both of them Should be......
