Get a different filter. They probably gave you the wrong one.

+1 also make sure the rubber o-ring gasket didn't get stuck on the block causing it to not set well.

The fram extra guard ones (silver ones) do this the easiest.

Have your girlfriend tighten it for you. LOL Just kidding.

Yeah, you either have the wrong one, cross threaded it, or some of the rubber seal from the last one is still on there.

How are you tightening it? Make sure both surfaces are clean, and wipe a small amount of oil on the gasket with your finger. Hand tight, then maybe 1/2 to 3/4 turn with the wrench after, and that's it.

Edit: And get a WIX filter. #51085

Tried two new filters two different types, made sure old gasket was removed, cleaned mating surface, ensured gasket was wet with oil, and had my GF tighten as much as she could. Next step would be installing with filter wrench???? Anymore ideas?

No it's coming from around the filter. I cleaned it up pretty good because I first suspected the rear main seal since the truck sat for awhile. But I will double check just to make sure.

Did you change your oil filter when it was cold outside? If you are, try to warm the O-ring so that it can fit a little bit snugger.
