2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L 360, Manual
I have a 2001 Dodge that I'm having issues with and wondered if someone could help me. I changed out the radiator in the truck because during my exhaust installation, I was told it had a small hole in it. Keep in mind, before the change, I had no problems with it. After the change, I drove it for about 40-50 miles, stopped for 20 minutes, went to start it back up and it wouldn't start. It would turn over, start, but won't stay started. I didn't think the radiator change could cause this, but I checked all my hoses anyway. No leaks or anything, so everything was good to go. I tried jump starting it, but again, it would start, stay idle but die again within 30 seconds or so. Could this possibly be the Fuel Filter maybe? Any help would be appreciated...
Thank you guys for responding and moving my Thread over. Hey You, when I was trying to start it, I did just what you are saying, but it wouldn't start at all. After trying that, allowing it to sit for a couple minutes, it started it, sputtered a little as I pressed on the gas. After I let off the gas, it sputtered a little more then eventually just died out again on it's on. Any other suggestions? My first thought is to give it some gas and injector treatment to see what happens.

it means the catalytic converter is bad.....and this is caused from a leaking Plenum gasket....(do a search theres 12,628,537,927,863,561 threads on this)
Also it sounds like the fuel pump is dieing, which is a common problem......fuel filter is in the pump and is not servicable.

Thanks for the response Zman17. So if I remove the Precat 02 Sensor and it starts, what does that mean I need to replace? I'm a little new at this, so excuse the ignorance, lol. Also, I recently changed my exhaust system from Single OEM, to a Dual Magna Flow. Would that make a difference?
All that removing it will do, is verify whether or not the cat is clogged. I just like to start there first.
edit: then you will want to move on to getting a fuel pressure gauge and checking that.
