Default P1740

Approximately 4 months ago I completely rebuilt my transmission. I used the K46 kit from PATC, this kit includes a new torque converter as well as shift kit, and many other parts needed for a thorough rebuild.

The truck runs great with no issues. Over thanksgiving week, I drove the truck to Texas on vacation. Approximately 1200 highway miles, again it ran great.

2 days ago I jumped in truck and went on a short 30 mile trip on mostly gravel roads. I got a check engine light. When I checked I had a code of 1740. I cleared the code and it has not come back yet (I do not drive the truck daily)

The rebuild kit did not include the TCC solenoids, and I did not replace them at the time. I am hoping the problem is at worst a bad solenoid. Is this a good bet, or should I be looking elsewhere.

When you do a rebuild, you should ALWAYS replace ALL the solenoids. I think that's your problem.
