Kinda depends on how you drive and the size of your leveling kit. Most leveling kits for 2nd gen Dodge Rams are 2" You can definelty continue to use the stock shocks with a 2" lift, but if you like to off-road hard, you would be better getting a shock designed for a 2-3" lift. If you leveling is 3", you really would be better off with new shocks.

Rear shocks will not be affected unless you decide to do some lifting back there too. You can do either a lifted block, or an add-a-leaf. I recommend doing something since once you have the front lifted, it will look kinda funny if it sticks up higher then the rear. With a leveling kit, the front can do this very easily if you are hauling any kind of load in the bed, or towing.

As for brand, again it depends on how you use your pickup. If you do nothing but street driving, you probably wouldn't need an off-road shock designed shock. I have heard that the Edelbroks are a good all around shock, but I have never used them. Also have heard Monroes makes a decent street shock. For off-road type use, Rancho and Bilsteins are great choices. I love Skyjacker for just about everything except their shocks, they are kinda crappy in my opinion.

Good luck.
